The airport Galeão (GIG) in Rio de Janeiro actually has the official name of Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport. Here are the options available to travel the few kilometers that separate it from the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The first option and more comfortable is to take a taxi.

There are seven companies authorized to operate at the airport. There are five companies of special taxis (more luxurious option): CoopaturCootramoCoopertramoTranscoopass e Transcootour. And two common taxi companies (cheapest option): Aerocoop e Aerotáxi.

All companies have kiosks in the lower landing floor. The counters are divided between ordinary taxi companies and special taxi companies as the photo below

In common taxi companies you have the option to choose between paying a fixed amount or value of the meter. In the vast majority of the time choose the meter. As for the special taxis companies are much more expensive and rates are tabulated, there is no use of meter. Prices are in the table below (subject to updates). If your destination is not among the table, see: Preços táxi convencional e Preços táxi especial.

Executive bus (Premium Auto bus)

A second widely used option is the executive bus. From the airport there are four lines that serve the city of Rio de Janeiro. You can buy the ticket directly to the driver on the bus. The starting point of all the lines is out of the arrival level at the end of the track. By passing the automatic opening of output port, turn right and walk to the end of the driveway.
